What is a Community Redevelopment Agency

A Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is a significant tool for counties and municipalities to commit resources in efforts to reduce and/or eliminate conditions of slum and blighted areas which threaten the public health, safety, welfare.  In turn, CRA's are used to stimulate the community and encourage economic revitalization.

A community redevelopment area is a geographic area in which the physical and economic conditions meet the definition of slum or blight according to the Florida Statute Chapter 163. The purpose for establishing the Lake Clarke Shores Community Redevelopment Area was to address distressed conditions in the identified redevelopment area. The Lake Clarke Shores CRA was established on July 12, 2016.
