The Town of Lake Clarke Shores has a contract with Waste Management to collect garbage, trash, bulk items, recycling, and vegetation within the Town limits. The quick reference pick-up schedule is as follows:

South of Forest Hill Blvd.

  • Monday: Vegetation collection and bulk trash pickup 
  • Tuesday: Household garbage collection 
  • Friday:  Recycling collection (If you live SOUTH of Forest Hill Blvd.) and household garbage collection

North of Forest Hill Blvd.

  • Tuesday: Recycling collection, vegetation collection, bulk trash pickup and household garbage collection
  • Friday: Household garbage collection  

 

VEGETATION 

  • Vegetation is picked up on Mondays or Tuesdays (based on North or South of Forest Hill Blvd.)
  • Town Code states that vegetation cannot be placed at curbside prior to SATURDAY mornings. Code Enforcement issues a Notice of Violation for placing vegetation out earlier than this.
    • NOTE: The Town’s contract with Waste Management does not include removal of yard waste (vegetation) that has been cut or trimmed by anyone other than the owner or tenant of the property. If you have a lawn maintenance person or company, they MUST remove the yard waste that they generate.

BULK TRASH  Bulk trash items are picked up on Mondays or Tuesdays (based on North or South of Forest Hill Blvd.)

RECYCLING  Recycling is picked up on Tuesdays or Fridays (based on North or South of Forest Hill Blvd.)

The town promotes recycling and provides plastic bins for your use. These bins are available at Town Hall. Use these bins as follows:

  • Blue bin
    • Aluminum cans, pie plates, foil, etc & steel cans  
    • Glass bottles and jars     
    • Milk and juice cartons and drink boxes    
    • Plastic containers #1-7 - No plastic bags or Styrofoam  
  • Yellow bin
    • Newspapers
    • Magazines, catalogs & unwanted mail
    • Telephone books
    •  Cardboard boxes – ie: cereal, tissue & beverage   Corrugated cardboard boxes - flatten and place next to recycling bins

GARBAGE   Garbage is picked up on Tuesdays AND Fridays. Garbage must be placed in Town-issued garbage carts or it will not be picked up by Waste Management. 
 

 

Hazardous Waste

Waste Management will not pick up hazardous waste. Hazardous waste includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Paint, motor oil, gasoline, etc.
  • Combustible items i.e.: propane tanks, and gas cans 
  • Corrosives and toxicants

Please call the Solid Waste Authority for information on how to properly dispose of these items. Their number is 697-2700.

NOTE: All containers, recycling bins, litter, garbage, refuse, rubbish and trash must be hidden from view from the street and cannot be placed at curbside for pickup prior to 6:00 p.m. or dusk, whichever is earlier, on the night before pickup. The containers must be removed from curbside by 6:00 p.m. on the day of pickup. Please remember that garbage containers must be kept tightly covered at all times. This will help contain odors and could also keep dogs, cats and other wildlife from disturbing your garbage.

In Accordance With Section 403.7049, Florida Statues, the full cost of solid waste management services within the Town of Lake Clarke Shores, Florida for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, is noted below:

RESIDENTIAL COLLECTION SERVICE (CART)
$18.27 per month

COMMERCIAL COLLECTION SERVICE (DUMPSTER)
Collection per cubic yard is $12.53*

* This amount does not include container rental rates, ancillary and other charges.

The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County separately collects processing and disposal costs through an annual non-ad valorem assessment.
