Staffing Changes

Mery Ramirez is moving from Utilities to the Building Department to take Joan Peron’s place.  Mary Pinkerman is currently training Mery.  We’re excited that she has decided to make the change.  She has demonstrated excellent customer relations skills.  Please congratulate Mery

Damon Gammons has been promoted to Director of Utilities.  He’ll be working directly with our engineering Consultants on a number of projects we have in the works for FY2019.  Please congratulate Damon.

Zoie Burgess has been promoted to Assistant Town Administrator.  Zoie will keep her HR responsibilities and well as some contract management and oversight responsibilities. Please congratulate Zoie.

Lake Clarke Shores CRA Budget

CRA staff would like to increase the expenditures on the Forest Hill Boulevard median budgeted in the FY 2019 CRA budget.  A CRA Budget Amendment must first be approved by the CRA Board and then be approved by the Town Council as a Town Budget Amendment.  In January staff will propose a $10,000 increase to the $10,000 line item in the CRA Budget for FHB Median landscaping improvements.  If approved, staff will propose a Town Budget Amendment to reflect the increase in the Town Budget CRA Fund in February.

Lake Clarke Shores CRA Staffing

Both Mary Pinkerman and Zoie Burgess have received the Florida Redevelopment Association designation as a “Redevelopment Professional”.  To qualify for this designation, they each had to complete 40 hours of training in five different aspects of CRA administration, financing, and operations.  Then achieve a score of 70% or above on a test of approximately 250 questions concerning CRA’s.  Staff is recommending a change to the CRA Ordinance that will allow Mary to be the CRA Executive Director and Zoie to be the CRA Clerk in recognition of their achievements.  The proposed Ordinance changes allow for the Town Manager or a designee.

FY 2019 Budget Amendments

At the January Town Council Meeting a FY2019 Budget Amendment is proposed.  The Amendment reflects additional revenue of $245,049 and new expenditures of $191,955 with $53,094 being proposed to replenish the Fund Balance and several other transfers and adjustments to reflect new policies like the Capital Assets Policy.
