2019 Town BBQ

“Biggest and best ever” is the feedback we are getting from those that attended.  After 26 years, we have a solid plan.  Each year we change a few things to improve.  We added new Captains for our Volunteers in the beverage and car show areas, and we changed the dishwashing and garbage removal crew.  In addition, we began the transition to a “green” event.

This year was a BIG success and the numbers seem to agree:

1842 wristbands were given out.  Some of the children and adults in the kid’s area did not have wristbands, so we probably had about 2000 attendees.
32 sponsors participated this year. Sponsor revenue topped $10,500.00

The cooking staff led by Bob and/or Paul was awesome and stayed ahead of schedule the whole weekend.  Walking around Sunday I received many compliments on the event, the food, and the staff.  I want to thank Admin, Utilities and the Police for all their hard work this last week.  In addition, I want to recognize Eliza for her efforts this year in making this BBQ truly one for the record book.

Most importantly, our volunteers were amazing; lines were minimized, smiles accompanied every camouflage volunteer t-shirt, and every need was accommodated.

Staff Changes

We are excited to announce that we have hired Emilie Pearson as Deputy Clerk.  Please stop by and introduce yourself to her.  She is a paralegal, lives in Town and can help us with a variety of current hot topics.

Larson Consulting Services

We have had inquiries from two commercial properties and a number of residential properties regarding converting from septic systems to central sewer.  Costs range from $150,000 for each commercial property to millions of dollars to sewer the Town.  Staff feels we need professional support to create a financial plan to ensure we have money available when we need it and that we maintain a superb credit rating at all times.

We believe Larson Consulting Services, LLC (LCS) would be the best choice to help us.  LCS is currently working with FRED (our PACE District) and with FLSAFE where we have recently moved our investments.  We are asking the Town Council to approve an agreement with Larsen Consulting Services, LLC for Financial Advisor Services.
