Additional Updates

Town of LCS Counts - Census 2020

In mid-March Lake Clarke Shores Residents will begin receiving notices to complete the 2020 Census questionnaire. Please comply. This Census is critically important to our residents. The results of the Census is what the Federal Government uses to distribute federal monies to support local agencies such as Housing and Urban Development (CDBG, HOPE, NSP), Department of Education {head-start, pre-K, before and after school care) and drug addiction treatment programs. We hope everyone in Lake Clarke Shores can be counted, the young and old alike. The Town of LCS Counts is this year's BBQ theme. We plan to have a space set up in Town Hall where anyone wanting assistance with completing their Census questionnaire can receive assistance. We will also have a Census table with information about the Census, we are waiting on confirmation from our Census representative if he will be available to participate. Remember everyone must be counted and 100% of the data collected can NEVER be shared by the Census Bureau. There is no citizenship question on the Census form. Go to 2020Census.gov for more information. Staff will-6e handing out limited edition BBQ pins to the first 100 residents who complete their Census at the BBQ.

Annual State of the Town Report

The Mayor's Annual State of the Town Report is available. It's called LCS 2020 and is available in hardcopy now. We are working with a company to ensure the report is ADA compliant and accessible for publishing on the TownofLCS website.

The 27th Annual Town BBQ is coming March 29th

The Annual BBQ will soon be here. The Town Newsletter (Shorelines) was recently mailed and had the BBQ information as well as the Annual BBQ pre-order form included. We are aware of the international health crisis concerning the COVD-19 virus and are working with staff and volunteers to eliminate the possible transmission risk, including making routine PSA's during the event. Staff and volunteers will undergo safety training. The Town will have hand sanitizer on the tables and throughout the site for public use. As part of our efforts to go "green" with this event, we will be changing cutlery and dishes. We will also be providing reusable glasses with lids and straws which feature the LCS logo on one side and a QR Code to sign up for our monthly e-newsletter {the Buzz) and CodeRED notices.

RFP for LCS Wastewater Service Area

We received five responses to our Request for Proposal (Keshavarz & Assoc, HCE, AECOM, Jones Edmunds, Chen Moore). Staff are doing reviews and evaluations now. We meet next Thursday with the OIG Representative to rank our top three firms. The Top Three firms will be asked to make short presentations about their team and expertise. We will then rank the finalists and make a recommendation for award to the Town Council. The recommended firm will be asked to complete the design and to provide an opinion of costs. It is staff's expectation to be able to present to the Town Council cost data in about 12 months. An informed decision can then be made on any future actions.
