Development of the Town’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year will continue this month with an important milestone at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, July 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall. During the meeting, the Council will consider establishing the proposed not-to-exceed millage rate for the upcoming fiscal year.
The proposed not-to-exceed millage rate is used to prepare the Truth in Millage (TRIM) notices that are mailed to property owners later this summer. While the final budget, which will be adopted later in September, may include a lower millage rate, it cannot exceed the rate established at the July meeting.
The Town’s budget serves as a financial plan for providing municipal services, maintaining infrastructure, and funding capital improvements for the coming year. Throughout the budget development process, the Town Council reviews anticipated revenues, operating costs, capital improvement needs, and long-term financial priorities to ensure the Town continues to provide high-quality services while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting and follow the budget process as plans for the upcoming fiscal year begin to take shape.
