Building Permit Application Fees

Permit fees are based on the cost of the job according to the following:

Minimum fee: $90.00

   3 % of $0.00 to $100,000 plus
   2 % of $100,001 to $200,000 plus
   1 % of valuation over $200,001 

The State of Florida has implemented an additional surcharge of 1.5% for the Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Fund and a 1.5% surcharge for the enforcement of Building Codes. These amounts are based on the actual building permit fee.  Fees are required at the time the permit application is submitted.  Fees can be paid by check, credit card or exact change cash. 

 

Tree Removal Fees

Tree removal fees are $35.00 for 5' to 18' around and $50.00 for 19' and up for non-invasive tree removal plus taxes. Invasive tree removal is a no fee permit. Fee is total for the permit regardless of how many trees are being removed. 

 

Chickee Hut Fees

Chickee hut permits are a no fee permit as long as work is completed by the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida or the Seminole Tribe of Florida. A permit must still be applied for with appropriate paperwork. 

 

Plan Review Fees

New construction plan review fees are $350.00. Addition/remodel plan review fees are $150.00. These fees are added to the permit application fees. 

 

Re-Inspection Fees

When an inspection has failed and a new inspection is needed, a $75.00 charge will be applied. 

 

Land Use License Fee

Application for Land Use License is $650.00. Application is paid once per property. When license is obtained, it can be transferred to the following homeowners at no additional charge. 

 

Variance Application Fee

Single- family residential variance application is $475.00. Multi-family residential and commercial applications are $750.00 plus associated costs.
