Zero Tolerance for Vegetation Violations
The Town of Lake Clarke Shores has launched Operation Lawn and Order, a new enforcement and education campaign to address improper disposal of yard and vegetative waste.
Town Code requires that all bulk and vegetative waste be placed in the swale at the paved edge of the right-of-way no earlier than 72 hours before collection and no later than 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. Landscapers and lawn service providers are also required to remove all yard waste they generate — it may not be left for collection by the Town.
According to the Code:
Section 46-13(b) of the Town Code requires "All vegetative waste and yard trash shall be placed for collection in the swale at the paved edge of the right-of-way no earlier than 72 hours prior to collection and no later than 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day." Section 46-16(b) of the Town Code requires landscapers to remove any vegetative waste they generate.
-
First Violation: $125
-
Second Violation: $250
-
Third Violation: $400
-
Fourth and Subsequent Violation: $500
Beginning now, the Town will issue violation warnings to properties found in violation. However, starting January 1, 2026, the Town will enforce a Zero Tolerance policy for vegetation violations. Repeat or new violations after that date will result in citations and fines. If you have yard waste, you may store it on the side of your home or in a separate container until collection day. Please make sure your yard waste does not find its way to your neighbor's property. Finally, please remind your landscapers of the requirement to haul away their own debris. Help us maintain a clean, safe, and beautiful community — and avoid unnecessary citations.
